Dreams Park is the more traditional tournament and has been around longer while Cooperstown All Star Village is newer and more modern.
2 ) Atmosphere
Dreams Park is much larger and gives you a baseball camp feeling while All Star Village is smaller, compact and gives you a more intimate resort complex like atmosphere.
The fields at Dreams Park also has a more traditional look with green painted wood outfield fences while All Star Village has padded walls and chain link fences.
3 ) Fields: Grass vs Turf
The most important difference between Cooperstown Dreams Park and All Star Village are the fields.

It may not seem like a big difference but it is huge because of the rain.
4 ) All Star Village Has Shorter Rain Delays
I’ve been to Cooperstown twice and it constantly rains in the summer.
The rain doesn’t last long but it can thunder, lightning and pour and this drenches the fields.
Once the rain stops you can play immediately at All Star Village while Dreams Park will have a longer rain delay because the real grass fields take time to recover (mud on dirt, etc.)
5 ) Location
Dreams Park is just outside Cooperstown and only 4 miles away from downtown and the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Cooperstown All Star Village is actually in Oneonta and about 25 miles away (30 minute drive)
6 ) Size
Both tournaments have the same number of teams that participate (anywhere from 50 – 100 teams on any given week) but Dreams Park has 22 fields versus 12 fields for All Star Village.
The 22 fields makes Dream Park way bigger and spread out.
7 ) Bunks / Lodging
For many years this was a big difference because Dreams Park bunks did not have air conditioning but that changed in 2025 when they renovated.
All Star Village has an onside hotel with pool for parents while Dreams Park does not.
8 ) Alcohol Policy
Dreams Park has a strict no alcohol policy while All Star Village features an onsite beer garden and tavern.
9 ) Competition Level
In the past, Dreams Park has better competition and features tougher teams than All Star Village but that has changed slightly since 2024.
Some of the top elite majors teams go to All Star Village now.
10 ) Tournament Play
Both tournaments feature guaranteed 6 games of pool play but there are differences to playoffs and bracket play

All teams are put into 1 big bracket and every team has a chance to win the championship.
All Star Village
Only the top 32 teams are put in a “Gold” bracket and have a chance to be crowned the Champion
The lower seeds are divided into a “Silver” and “Bronze” brackets.
Our Opinion: Cooperstown All Star Village vs Dreams Park
You can’t go wrong with either one because both will create lifelong memories for your child and family.
Having been to Cooperstown twice, we prefer All Star Village because of the artificial turf fields and shorter rain delays.
You’re not as close to Cooperstown but All Star Village gives every team a specific day where you have over 6 hours to drive into town.
The location is actually not that big a deal since you don’t have much time to go anyway due to the tournament schedule and kids rather hang out with their friends at the bunks.
